The GC America EXA Advanced VPS Regular Fast Set is a high-quality, fast-setting impression material designed to deliver accurate results while minimizing patient chair time. This material is a regular viscosity vinyl polysiloxane (VPS) with a hydrophilic formulation.
Its medium-body consistency is ideal for use as a tray material in a dual-viscosity technique, where it works in conjunction with a light body injection material to capture fine details with precision. The "fast set" formulation provides a total cure time of approximately 90 seconds in the mouth, which significantly reduces the risk of distortion from patient movement. This is balanced by a sufficient working time of around 60 seconds, which allows for proper manipulation and placement.
The material is also thixotropic, remaining stable in the tray until pressure is applied, preventing slumping. It offers superior tear strength and elastic recovery, ensuring the impression maintains its integrity upon removal. The material's dimensional stability allows for models to be poured up to two weeks later.
